Flash Fiction

Within these pages are flash fiction stories. Flash fiction is a style of fictional literature of extreme brevity and its roots go as far back as Aesop’s Fables. The challenge of flash fiction for the writer is to write a story using a limited amount of words but still to make certain that the story contains the classic story elements of protagonist, conflict, obstacles or complications, and resolution.

My flash fiction stories are all limited to 300 words or less, and hopefully I have met the challenge. I hope that you enjoy reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them. I have listed their titles below.

Please feel free to drop me a line about any of the stories that you read. I’d love to hear your comments! You may either fill out the form I’ve provided below for your convenience or fill out a comment form at the end of the story you read. Thanks!

  • I like your flash fiction site. I’m a newbie and I have written some short stories that would be considered flash fiction. I love your site and it has given me some ideas as to sub-divide some of my work. Again you have a great site.

    • Thank you so much for kind comments. It’s nice to know that someone is actually reading my flash fiction stories. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even know if anyone was. It is nice to be able to divide up your site into different sections, and like I’ve told my husband and family members, my blog isn’t just my blog anymore, it’s actually my website now. And that’s one of the reasons I like writing at WordPress. There are just so many different things you can do here, and that’s why I like it here so much. And the people here are great, aren’t they? I’m so happy that I’ve been able to give you some ideas for your site, too. I love to help people, and it makes me feel good to know that I’ve helped someone else, especially a “newbie.” If you need help with anything else, please don’t hesitate to contact me, because I’m always willing to help out. You could email me, too, if you’d like: blainecindy@comcast.net. Like I said, I’m more than willing to help out a fellow writer, especially someone who’s new. I remember what it was like to be starting out and I didn’t have anyone to help me. I had to figure out everything for myself, and if I can make it easier for someone, that would be great. Good luck! 🙂
