Then You Found Me

Prompt:

FOUND

I was
broken,
hurting,
and full of despair.

I was
lonely,
isolated,
and desperate for company.

I was
hopeless,
despondent,
and needing a purpose.

Then you found me…

I am whole again,
no longer alone,
and full of hope.

Tomorrow will be better.

Where Your Treasure Lies

Where your treasure lies 100

What lies in Heaven? you may ask.

The answer’s not an easy task.

But ponder this before you part:

“Your treasure lies where there’s your heart.”

The heart is in the midst of all,

And we must beckon to its call.

Do you choose riches from the start?

“Your treasure lies where there’s your heart.”

A life of wealth has such appeal,

But you must choose to love with zeal.

This wisdom to you I impart:

“Your treasure lies where there’s your heart.”

The most important thing is love.

We learned this from our God above.

From ev’ryone you’re set apart.

“Your treasure lies where there’s your heart.”

Perform good deeds just as God said,

Do acts of love – you’ll be ahead,

For loving hearts are works of art.

“Your treasure lies where there’s your heart.”

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” [Mt. 6:19-21]

Mid-Flight Friendship

Ah, my friend . . .

We met upon the ride that night,

Our friendship new was born mid-flight.

The moon was high and we were young,

The night sang out with songs we’d sung.

Ah, my friend . . .

You made me smile and laugh out loud.

You even charmed the passing crowd.

You listened with an open heart.

You were a friend right from the start.

Ah, my friend . . .

And when the night came to an end,

‘Twas hard to say good-bye, my friend.

We vowed we’d meet again some day,

And swore we’d somehow find a way.

Ah, my friend . . .

But now the years have flown so fast;

I sadly heard that you had passed.

But I will not forget the night

I made a friend in moon’s mid-flight.

Pandora’s Box

yeah write top three #217

pandoras-box1-300x240

Pandora was the young girl’s name,

For mankind’s ills she’s been to blame.

Unleashing evil is the claim.

It’s such a shame, it’s such a shame.

The box she had to see inside,

And when unlocked, it opened wide.

Then all the evil flew outside.

And then she cried, and then she cried.

Her fellow man she had betrayed,

With all the evils now displayed.

She knew an error grave she’d made.

She was afraid, she was afraid.

Pandora was in such despair.

Her grief was quite a lot to bear.

She looked once more and breathed a prayer,

For Hope was there, for Hope was there.

The World is Mine if I Have You

couple holding hands 100

Our love exceeds the mountains’ heights.

In your embrace my soul delights.

Dark storms of life we shall pass through.

The world is mine if I have you.

Rainbow hues reside in our love.

You I wish to be worthy of.

With one kiss let our love be true.

The world is mine if I have you.

So may our love be like the dawn,

When all the fears and doubts are gone.

Let us our vows of love renew.

The world is mine if I have you.

Our love exceeds the mountains’ heights.

The world is mine if I have you.

My Ever-Faithful Companion

I have a faithful companion,

And Lucy is her name.

She is my little toy poodle,

And pleasing me is her game.

She’s always there to comfort me,

And soothe me when I’m down.

She does funny things that make me laugh,

And she takes away my frown.

She loves it when I play with her,

Especially when she’s bored.

She wants me to interact with her,

And she hates to be ignored.

She lets me know when she is glad

By licking me on my face.

She’s delighted when I hold her close,

And feels safe in my embrace.

Her little tail will happily wag

To show her puppy love.

I’m sure the affection that she shows

Comes from the Lord above.

Whenever she wants a special treat,

She sits right up and begs.

Then she dances round and round,

While standing on two legs.

Because I’m ill and cannot work,

I’m home both day and night;

And when I’m in a lot of pain.

Somehow she knows I’m not all right.

She follows me where ever I go,

And always wants to be near.

I think she wants me to feel better,

And I can tell that she’s sincere.

She is my little baby;

She is my very best friend.

She only wants what’s good for me,

And I know she’ll love me to the end.

I love my little Lucy,

No better dog could there be.

And I’m grateful every day

God sent her to be with me

My Little Blossom

Stephanie and Sarah as little girls

“My Little Blossom”

A daughter is a gift from God.
There cannot be a finer thing
Than watching while she’s growing up.
Her growth reminds me of the Spring.

She’s just like a little blossom.
A tiny bud in bloom is she.
It seems she grows a bit each day,
Like a flowering apple tree.

She’s such a darling little girl.
Her personality is sweet.
She can’t help but be so charming,
And when she smiles, it’s quite a treat.

In her world, her dolls are babies
And all of her stuffed toys are real.
She plays her games of make-believe,
While playing dress-up with such zeal.

Her hugs and kisses are precious.
I melt when she says, “I love you.”
She drapes her arms around my neck,
And then I know her love is true.

I wish that my little blossom
Could remain forever with me.
But I know that she must grow up
To become her own apple tree.

Beyond the Earth

Stars twinkling in the moonlit sky,

Shining brilliantly, a breathtaking sight to behold,

Each one waiting with a secret to be discovered.

How long before we mere mortals can reach them?

galaxy-cluster-1e-0657-56Planets — more than we can even acknowledge,

Exist in other galaxies, in far too many than we can even count.

The possibilities are endless if we ever journey to these planets.

What secrets could we unlock there? What life may exist there?

Galaxies, infinite beyond number; are lying out there in the great beyond,

Awaiting to be discovered; galaxies to be observed that we have never laid eyes on before,

Beyond the Milky Way, beyond any galaxies that we could even know,

Who will be the first to behold these magnificent sights, these most awesome of wonders?

Bridge Over Troubled Water

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel is a song which describes what my husband is to me. He is always there for me, no matter what the circumstances may be. Whether it’s in good times or bad times, through sickness and through health, whether we’ve been financially secure or not, he’s never wavered, not for one single moment. I have always been able to count on his love and support. He has always been my bridge over troubled water, and for this I am eternally grateful. I dedicate the following poem to my husband, Michael:

~ Y-O-U ~

You are my morning, my noon, my night,

You are my stars, my moon, and my sun,

You are my laughter and my delight,

You are my dear, my special someone.

Yours is the love which I always seek,

Yours are the arms I always run to,

Yours is the kiss which makes me feel weak,

Yours are the words that say I love you.

You always make me feel I matter,

You always make me feel I’m the best.

You always make my worries scatter,

You always make me feel I am blest.

You are the one who’s there when I’m sad,

You are the one who’s there when I’m blue.

You are the one who can make me glad,

You are the one who will see me through.

You’ll give me happiness ’til the end,

You’ll give me joy sent from above.

You’ll give me what I need in a friend,

You’ll give me what I need in a love.

You are all that I need to succeed,

You are all that I’ll ever ask for.

You are all that I will ever need,

You are all that I’d want forevermore.
